In 2019, I had the opportunity to be inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honor society for AACSB-accredited schools (top 5% of business school programs in the world). This valuable honor is only given to students that are in the top 10% of their course.
As a proud member of the University Honors Program at California State University, San Bernardino, I was able to challenge myself through rigorous coursework while being part of a community that emphasizes community engagement. Amongst the numerous requirements needed to graduate from this program, one of them included a senior research project. This is where I began my journey in the academic research realm and I completed a study on "The Factors and Conditions that Affect the Relationship between Tourists and Locals".
"Dhillon, who received her bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in international business, was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society in her second year at CSUSB, which she credited with giving her the confidence to connect with several Jack H. Brown College faculty members and earn a fellowship from the college’s Office of Academic Equity.
She also worked in various campus programs that included the Office of Orientation and First Year Experience, and the Student Mentoring Program. Those leadership roles allowed her to help advocate for student success.
In addition, Dhillon had the opportunity to study abroad in Spain and Sweden as part of the JHBC’s Center for Global Management, and used this experience to enhance her cultural proficiency and complete “Factors and Conditions that Affect the Relationship between Tourists and Locals,” a senior research project with the University Honors Program. Dhillon is deeply passionate about helping others and achieving excellence through persistence and dedication."
